Weight Your Needs Before You Take Out The Extra Rental Policy

Deciding on whether to take out additional car rental insurance for the rental or choose another option is just another decision you will be confronted with when you decide to rent a vehicle. Depending on who you ask, will depend on the advise you will receive. Take the insurance, don’t take the insurance; you will have to decide which best suits your needs.

Well, honestly it is both. On the one hand if you have verified with your car insurance company that they will cover you for any issues that may arise while you are driving a rental vehicle and have verified with your credit card company that they will too cover you, then it is true that your car rental insurance will do you no good. This does not mean that it doesn’t work but very simply that it will not help you to pay anything above and beyond what your insurance company and credit card company will pay.

If you don’t have car insurance or have very minimal car insurance then it is likely that you will find that you need to take the additional car rental insurance and this coverage will help you to pay most expenses that you incur in a rental vehicle. It is essential to take if you don’t have insurance or don’t know if your car insurance will cover damages sustained by a rental vehicle. It is the only way to ensure that you will be protected no matter what happens.

Of course it is important to realize that car rental agents will make it seem like you need to take this extra insurance and that is very simply because this is an area in which the car rental agency makes a significant profit and at $50 per day for this insurance, which is the going rate for their insurance policies. It is important to know the facts before you get to the rental counter.

Driving, either in your personal vehicle or while driving a rental, you are supposed to have adequate insurance and as with most all insurance policies there is a deductible, this included rental vehicles. If this is surprises you, it shouldn’t. The rental insurance is comparable to a regular insurance policy, just for a shorter term, but a insurance policy none the less, with most often the same clauses. Making sure you are insured is the important bottom line to be concerned with.

A Car rental can be a stressful part of your holiday. Surf online and check out the deals before deciding on your Car hire Sydney.

Alaska Territory - The Vast Plains

Alaska is the biggest and least populated state of the United States and a prime choice for hardy settlers. The real estate in Alaska is a prime investment commodity.

Land Of The Midnight Sun

From all appearances, Alaska, also referred to as “the great land,” is a far away land with inhospitable weather condition and unfit habitation. These assumptions are blown away once you visit and are overwhelmed by Mother Nature at her absolute best. It is a great haven for people who love the great outdoors where mountain ranges abound, whitewater rivers every which way and snow all around up to the ocean shores. In a state that compromises fully 20 percent of the total land mass of the United States, there is practically nothing that can’t be found. As a personal opinion, a visit to the Denali National Park would be one of those things that you should not miss in your life. The experience will be etched in your memory and change your concept of nature.

The Largest City In Alaska

Anchorage is the population center of Alaska with 40% living in the area and environs, but bears and moose and other fabled animals of the land are in other places. You will be destined to land in Anchorage if you are going to Alaska. Overall, Anchorage is a sprawling, chaotic city. With a reputation of being atypical of Alaska, it is the first option of homebuyers who are opting to live in a big city environment.

The Capital Of Alaska

The capital of Alaska is Juneau and considered by not a few as the best city in Alaska. The city is bordered by vast rain forests and mountains, and by the Gastineau Channel. The city took its name from the first prospector to find gold in the area, with all the facilities of modern living amid quaint surroundings. Homebuyers in Juneau will be greeting the day amidst some of the world’s magnificent scenery. It is, as the saying goes, the final destination of a pleasure trip.

Alaska Real Estate

In a state as large as Alaska, prices can vary tremendously. You can practically own a property in small towns for a song, but it is different in the larger cities. $300,000 is the average cost for a single-family residence in Anchorage, while it is going to take $450,000 to buy the same home in Juneau.

Discover The Beauty Of Butchart Gardens

Visitors to Vancouver Island have enjoyed the sights, sounds and smells of Butchart Gardens for several decades. Perched on the Saanich Peninsula in Brentwood Bay, these floral gardens have evolved over the years into the spectacular showcase seen today.

Robert Butchart owned a cement making company and relocated to the region in 1904 to tap into the limestone deposits discovered there. A few years later, his wife Jennie wanted an authentic Japanese garden so she commissioned Isaburo Kishida to design one for their estate. By 1909, the quarry was exhausted and its location became the future site of the Sunken Garden.

The couple chose the Italian word for welcome as the name for their home and the gardens at Benvenuto were officially opened to visitors in 1921. The tennis courts made way for the Italian Garden in 1936 and three years later the vegetable garden was transformed into a bed of roses.

Open year round, the gardens are in a constant state of change as different plants and flowers complete their growing season and others take their place. The landscape takes on different characteristics as the seasons change and there is always something new to see. The greenhouse displays are also changed seasonally and the huge sliding window gives photographers a chance to capture clear images of the contents.

An elaborate light system has been installed to provide illumination after the dark and adds a whole new dimension to the gorgeous landscaping. Fireworks shows and live entertainment during the summer months only add to the experience.

In addition to the lush foliage, there are several bronze statues on display including one named Tacca. The wild boar is a replica of a bronze cast created in 1620 by Pietro Tacca. Visitors regularly rub its nose for good luck exactly as they do in Europe with the original. A donkey and foal created by Sirio Tofanari can be seen in front of the house as can a fountain depicting three sturgeon which is installed in the Japanese garden.

The gardens are also home to the island’s only carousel. This magnificent hand carved structure opened in the Children’s Pavilion in 2009 and has become a very popular attraction. The Rose Carousel is decorated with bears, ostriches, horses, zebras and a host of other animals. Two elaborate chariots are included for those who want to lounge while they ride.

There are three choices for those looking for a meal. The Blue Poppy Restaurant offers cafeteria style dining and is perfect for families. The Dining Room Restaurant occupies space inside the original residence. Enjoy local cuisine while taking in the beautiful surroundings including Tod Inlet, the Italian Garden and the Private Garden. High Tea is served during the winter and afternoon tea service is provided during the warm weather months. Light snacks and beverages can be found at the Coffee Shop.

A visit to Butchart Gardens is the perfect way to spend the day.

Five Great Ideas For A Stay At Home Vacation

Date: Thursday September 2, 2010
Posted in: Vacation

Families used to count on going on vacation once a year, but many are finding it too costly to travel on holiday these days. Even if you can’t afford a get-away this year, there are still many exciting activities you can indulge in for fun. Vacations might not be an option this year, so try a staycation. Here are some ideas to whet your appetite.

You’ll be amazed at how much fun you can have during a “renovation staycation.” Pick one room to make over completely and go to work with paint, polish up fixtures, and rearrange furniture. Try turning your bedroom into a romantic retreat by adding inexpensive touches like fuzzy pillows and cashmere throws. Updating lampshades and minor accessories can really make a world of difference in your decor.

Make it a day of culture by visiting museums, libraries, and local art galleries. Tour historic sites in your area and read up on what your city or state is famous for. If you’re in New Jersey, look into why it’s called the “Garden State.” For Missouri, check out why your state is called the “Show me State.” There’s always a story worth hearing, so make a day of it and get an education in the process.

Since you’re the one who sets the schedule during your week off, think about having a full day of “you time”. Go to the day spa, get a manicure and pedicure, and don’t forget the massage. This is a great opportunity to totally revamp your look with a dramatic new hairstyle. Get frivolous by adding highlights and maybe even getting a henna tattoo.

Each night of the week of your vacation can have a theme, such as “picture day.” This could be a day for you to see a film at the theater, then rent a movie for later on at home. Get out your camera and take a picture of the sunset, nature, or some other beautiful scene to complete this themed day. Another theme could be “animal day,” and, on that day, you can take your family to the zoo, then watch “Animal Planet” at home later on. “Sports day” could involve going to a local sports game, and then renting “Rocky” later on that night.

Try to get outside if the weather allows, perhaps hiking or camping. These are great ways to soak up the beauty of nature while also getting in some exercise time. If you can convince your friends to camp out with you without all of their usual electronic devices, such as cell phones, portable games, and PDAs, you can enjoy a night under the stars like they did in the old days.

Even if money is tight for you right now, it is certainly possible to enjoy your time off from work without traveling far or spending a fortune. Looking around the area in which you live, you’ll find interesting sights to visit and things to do that don’t require much travel. Take a chance on a staycation instead of a vacation, and you’ll be pleasantly surprised at how much fun you’ll have.

Affordable All Inclusive Holidays

Date: Thursday August 19, 2010
Posted in: Vacation

Are you looking for a hassle-free vacation that can save you money? If so, you should consider an all inclusive holiday. These not only take the tedious planning out of your holiday but you can also find them to be more affordable than doing everything on your own.

All inclusive vacations include your flight to and from your destination, transfers, hotel accommodations and meal and drinks at your destination. In addition to this most offer free activities such snorkeling, bikes and boat trips. Some even include sightseeing trips, rental cars and childcare. Most all inclusive hotels and resorts have everything you need under one roof. There are buffet meals available or, if you prefer fine dining, you can make a reservation at one of the hotel’s restaurants. There is also usually free snacks and alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages available poolside. This makes it a good deal for several reasons. If you are taking a family vacation, everyone can enjoy a buffet breakfast together and then the kids can go to the beach. You can sit by the pool and sip margaritas while your kids are swimming and enjoying the sun.

Many all inclusive holidays are in available in Mexico, Costa Blanca and the Caribbean where there are pristine beaches and tropical weather. Their location is an added benefit since they are a short flight distance from the mainland U.S. Packages can be booked directly through the resort but it is recommended that you shop around on the internet. Packages are available to suit everyone’s budget; sometimes packages are even less expensive than a typical plane ticket.

Travel agents are also a great resource for one stop shopping. They have all the tools to find you a cheap vacation and many of them have first hand experience with the resorts and packages they offer. In addition, they know all the ins and outs of the destination so they can suggest sightseeing itineraries and other activities of interest.

With all of the benefits of all inclusive holidays, there are some things to watch out for. Many resorts and hotels are located outside of the city so getting out of your hotel and seeing the sights may be a chore. Staying at all inclusive resorts may also make you feel obligated to do everything at the hotel since everything is free; this may not suit those who like to get away from tourists and explore.

There are also some cheap travel deals that are too good to be true. Once you arrive you are required to attend a seminar for timeshares. If this happens, be prepared for hard sells and if you’re not interested in buying a time share then this could dampen your holiday time. If the deal sounds too good to be true then contact the hotel or the agency promoting the vacation and inquire. These kinds of offers are usually sent as promotions in the mail; travel agencies don’t deal with these types of gimmicks.

An all inclusive vacation can be a wonderful and affordable holiday but take time to research and be aware of the disadvantages.
