How To Stop Dog Jumping Behavior Before Something Bad Happens
Date: Sunday July 27, 2008Posted in: Family
Most people subscribe to the idea that dogs jump on humans in order to be closer to them. However, this can be scary if large dogs, even with good intentions, jump on humans. It can cause all kinds of problems and potentially really hurt someone so it is important to know how to stop dog jumping behavior before an accident occurs.
The reason your dog jumps up is to have a better view of you. You can minimize this behavior by lowering yourself so that you are at his eye level and then he will not have the desire to leap up at you. While this is a solution for you, there are also the neighbors or strangers that you encounter in public places and naturally you want to prevent your dog from jumping at them. In order to insure that this does not happen, it is necessary to train your dog properly so that he will respond to your voice commands.
Many people want to learn how to stop dog jumping behavior before they have even trained their dog in the basics. When training your dog to stop jumping on you or others you must make sure that he is properly trained in sitting first. It will be to difficult trying to teach your dog two commands at the same time. Be patient with your pet and diligent, soon your hard work will pay off.
For the dog training you should begin with your dog standing in front of you. You can immediately determine when your dog is about to jump up. What you want to do is look for the signs - muscles tensing, tail wagging etc… When you notice that they’re thinking about jumping up command the dog to sit. If the dog jumps up on you regardless (and he likely will at first) bring your knee up to his chest and firmly tell him Off. You might be tempted to say down. However, that is the command to get your dog to lay down and should only be used for that purpose.
The goal is not to hurt your dog, but to gently raise your knee, knocking the dog off balance. This is a natural way to show him the “off” command and you should reward him when he listens. Repeat this enough times and he will associate the word off with not jumping on people.
A dog that jumps up on people with no control is an accident waiting to happen. Learning how to stop dog jumping behavior in your dog can prevent harm to others and, maybe even to your dog.

When the one you really love passes away, you will need to start the funeral planning of the deceased. It is true that it is not easy to go through the whole process. However, your whole family will be helping you to plan for the funeral.
It is true that not many people will have the experience to plan for a funeral. And it may even be the first time you do the funeral planning. How you will be planning for the funeral will be depending on various issues. Some of these issues are religious belief and traditions.
Different services have to be planned and considered when you are planning for a funeral. Here are the things you should know about these services.
The first thing you will plan for is the visitation. Sometimes visitation will be called viewing. In most cases it will be held at the funeral home. Of course you may also plan it at your home.
Considering the date and time of visitation, it will usually be held a day before the funeral. It will usually last for at least a few hours.
When it comes to the actual funeral, the planning will mainly depend on the wish of the deceased. If the deceased has certain religious belief, the funeral will probably be held according to the teaching of the religion.
After the funeral, it will come to the burial of the deceases. Of course burial is only one of the options. Another option will be cremation. Again, the decision will probably depend on the wish and religious belief of the deceased. As a matter of fact, there are also people who will choose to “bury” the deceased in the sea. Yet this will require extra planning.
If the funeral is a pre-planned one, the deceased may have arranged everything well beforehand. In this case you will need to work with the funeral director and it will certainly be less stressful.

There is a simple code that I abide by to help ensure peace and balance in life, and that is what happens at work stays at work there, and what happens at home stays at home. Mixing the two worlds often can have troubling effects on both areas of your life. This can be especially difficult for people that work from their homes and be even more difficult to manage.
Many people work long hours in their jobs or home business and find they don’t feel like they have much left over for their families after a long day. Yet, the families are the priority, how to give your best to both can be a struggle.
Tip One: Use your commute time to shift gears mentally from letting go of the day at work, and begin thinking about your family.
Granted this is sometimes easier said than done, but you can use your commute time profitably, and is more geared toward those working outside the home. Begin to actively let go of the work day’s problems knowing they’ll be there tomorrow, and look forward to time with your family and what may be next.
Tip Two: Make a Schedule
You might need to think outside of the box when you work from home. There’s a tendency to put in more work hours when you work from home, simply because there’s not clear boundaries of work hours. Maybe you can work after the kids have gone to bed, or early in the morning. But look at the schedule of your family and see if you can find times in their day when their needs are less and use that for work hours.
Tip Three: Separate Your Phone lines
Fortunately for me, with my business I rarely have to be on the phone, almost all communication with clients is done via email. But if you are finding that you are getting business phone calls at all hours, having a separate number for them to call is great. You also have the option of making your cell phone your business phone and the home phone is personal. This way when your work day is done you can put the phone down and walk away from it. You can also separate the rings for people you know personally and business so you don’t accidentally answer a business call after working hours.
Four: Make a designated place for business transactions.
I know this isn’t always possible. What you can do is create a work space. There are really beautiful little room partitions that you can get to help create a separate workspace. It’s important for you to be able to get up and walk away from work.

Sherlock Holmes and Mr. Spock are the logical guys. The other people in their stories are the emotional ones. But our lives aren’t really like that–we need to be both the logical guy and the emotional guy.
Unfortunately, learning logical thinking doesn’t just come naturally for most people. But it’s an important skill. Logic traps are everywhere.
Here’s what you can do about it: teach logic to your child. Why?
1. Your child will be able to make better choices, understanding the principle of cause and effect. For instance, any “friends” who push him to waste money and time may find he turns a deaf ear, because he understands the logical consequences.
2. Your child will learn to tackle problems. Solving problems systematically involves considering a list of options. This your help your child deal with life problems as he becomes an adult–for example what to do if the sink plugs up or the car breaks down.
3. Your child will be better prepared to challenge advertising. He will be able to identify fallacies such as circular reasoning. For example, an advertiser might tell us, “Happy folks buy Toastie Puffs.” What he means is, “Buy Toastie Puffs, and you’ll be happy!” This is circular logic! Can your child recognize it?
4. Your child will be able to evaluate generalizations made in the media. Perhaps he sees a reporter interviewing five people about illegal immigration. All five think illegal immigrants should be given amnesty. Then the reporter announces that everyone thinks illegal immigrants should get amnesty. But that’s another logic error–generalizing from too small a sample group. Does your child see this error?
5. Your child will be able to evaluate what someone says by looking at who said it. For instance, if your dentist tells you how to take care of your teeth, you should follow his advice-he’s an expert. But if he tells you how to fix your car, you might not consider him an expert on that!
6. Your child will be able to understand computer logic as well. Computers think simply: if A is true, do B; if not, do C. Our own brains aren’t so linear. But learning to think in a linear manner like this will help a child learn logical thinking, a useful skill in the Information Age. In fact, a child who learns about computers can master computers eventually.

Sadly, the story is all too common: Instead of \”happily ever after,\” a couple is torn apart by an affair or financial troubles, and the two turn to a divorce as a quick solution to a messy problem. As the marriage ends, both parties end up paying a high cost both financially and emotionally.
Nowadays, divorce is so common that it’s almost a household name. A divorce differs from an annulment in a way that divorce means an ending of marriage before death of either spouse while an annulment is a declaration making the marriage null and void in the first place.
Some married couples mistakenly view divorce as a magic solution to their relationship problems. Yet in most cases this isn’t so and more disturbing is that they often jump to divorce without knowing the high cost of divorce, financially or emotionally.
Many people think a divorce will be over and done with quickly, and they can move on with their lives in little or no time. However, this is an misunderstanding of the complexity of the issue at hand; the average divorce usually takes about two years from beginning to end.
While hiring a person to represent you in divorce court can vary depending on the circumstances, the average figure thrown around to hire a good divorce attorney is usually $3,000 each for a one-day trial, more than most people originally expect. When you add in court fees and expert witnesses, that number quickly skyrockets.
Along with the \”sticker price\” of the divorce, the husband and wife sometimes forget about the hidden fees. All of a sudden, each individual needs to find a new way to pay rental or mortgage payments. Auto and health insurance change. Alimony and child support can sometimes require large payments. Without warning, one’s cost of living can go through the roof.
Easily overlooked by many couples is the emotional toll they take from going through a divorce as well. A messy divorce can conceivably cause later psychological problems and leave people \”living in the past.\” Unresolved anger is often a result.
Throughout the divorce process, each party will also likely feel a need to blame the other, reinforcing the sense of wrongdoing and victimhood. Instead of taking responsibility to fix the problem, a divorce encourages a person to place the blame for the marital stress on the other person. This could lead to a feeling of not being able to do anything about, helplessness, and all too often, clinical depression.
People are generally resigned to having their vital information officially recorded by the government. A great deal of resources is channeled into gathering and managing these records. In the Information Age, it is seen as a required mark of sound democratic governance. This information resource is also not solely reserved for government use only. The public has the right of access to many of the government records too. One example is Public Marriage Records.
Both the license and certificate are entered as marriage records into the respective files of the new spouses. They will then be maintained as public records at the county or state where the marriage has taken place, whichever is the prevailing practice. Being public records, they will be subject to public retrieval and view as long as procedures are complied with and fees are paid.
Since marriages are under state jurisdiction, they will be no exception. At a basic level, they include name, age, residence, occupation, birth place, time and place of marriage, some particulars of parents, witnesses and the conducting official of the ceremony. A key point fundamental to the purpose of many a marriage record search is previous marriages, if any, will show up.
Online Marriage Records County Search have many clear-cut advantages over its on-site or conventional mail counterparts. They are immediate and fast, low-cost, convenient, easy and even fashionable. If the high numbers are not apparent to you, that?s only because people are investigating under cover. That?s another thing about doing it online. It can be accessed from the privacy of your own home or office.
There are basically two types of service we can turn to for marriage record search, the free marriage records and the paid providers. Free services tend to be discrete and scattered so it can be quite time-consuming and tedious. Paid versions come at different levels of professionalism. The better rated ones can deliver very comprehensive reports. Over and above public resources, many have access to private and privileged databases.
If we are not up to the task for it ourselves, there are professional services abundantly available for that these days. This fee-based version of marriage record access ranges from field investigation to online retrieval from both public and private databases. Depending on individual needs and situation, one of these can be the right one for you.
It seems like not so long ago that divorces were avoided at all costs. Nowadays, this virtue has long gone out of the window that almost every other marriage in the US would end up in divorce in due course. Whatever the reasons or circumstances that lead to it, divorce records can never reflect positively on a person’s past. While we seek to be indiscriminative with people, we also don’t wish to be caught on the blind side of love.
Fortunately, it is easier to check people’s divorce records than most people think. Likewise, our own are accessible to others too. Divorce records are public records under state jurisdiction. They are retrievable from state statistics and records departments or their subordinate outlets. We can request them in person, by mail, telephone, fax or online via the internet. As with many other functions nowadays, most divorce records are accessed online, and there are goods reasons for it.
Online Divorce Records are available with the majority of the government agencies tasked with the particular function. It is popular because a great many of us are already on the internet on a daily basis anyway. With this method, divorce records are but only keystrokes away without having to leave your home or office. A great deal of information could be available in divorce records and even at a basic level, it will include personal particulars of the parties involved, children if any, the time and place of divorce, filing number and grounds or reasons for it, asset division, alimony, support, joint liabilities and other settlement issues.
The 2 basic versions of Online Divorce Records are the free-of-charge (FOC) and the fee-based ones. Free online divorce records are predominantly provided by public offices. While free of monetary costs, they tend to be raw and fall short in terms of quality and standardization among the various government departments. That’s why the paid version by commercial record providers is essential when professional standards are required. For a small fee, all the tedious work is carried out and spoon-fed to you so you can channel your focus and energy to other important aspects of your divorce pursuit.
Fee-based public online divorce records are abundantly available on the internet. There are very good value-for-money to be found if you incur a little patience to shop around a little bit. Competition is keen so fees are really reasonable. Another approach is to check out the various review sites. The top-tier ones are typically very professional in their reviews and recommendations. They do get their cut from the referrals but they have also to put in their due diligence for that.
Here’s the issue: how to be sure your kids are safe from viewing objectionable sites when they are searching the Internet. After all, you don’t want them to stumble across something they should not see.
Perhaps you’d like to buy a solution that you can use on your computer that will not allow them to look at objectionable sites, yet will allow them to freely browse.
I have to tell you that there is no solution like that. These filter programs, such as NetNanny, look for a list of objectionable words in the site your child has chosen to visit. Simple words such as “leg” can raise the alarm and cause a headache, while regular research on breast cancer might be blocked.
But programs like this fail when trying to filter objectionable photo sites that have no objectionable words. So, how do I know this? I am sad to say that my teenage son enlightened me. Using Google Images, he searched for objectionable sites and found them, even though the filtering program was on.
In fact, the filter program could never block these sites because it searches for words. It can’t evaluate pictures.
So, how can you protect your child?
*Put the computers the kids use where YOU are in your home. Then monitor what they are doing.
*Only the adults should know the login password. The kids will have to have permission to get on.
*Ensure that the kid logs off when the computer session is over, or turns the computer off. This makes the password required for the next session.
*Use filtering software. It may help.
*Kids should be told what you expect from them, and the consequences of disobedience.
*Unplug the computer from the Internet if the child is using a word processor or other local program only.
*Give younger kids your own email address to use. This protects them from objectionable spam. Give teens an email address, but instruct them to give it out only to people they know personally.
Your watchfulness will pay off. Your children will be protected from what they should not see, and they will also learn good habits for using the Internet as adults.

There is no doubt it is not easy to plan for a funeral. When our beloved passes away, it will be very difficult to control our emotions and plan for the funeral rationally. Yet there are something which has to be decided for the funeral. One of the decisions to be made is whether to cremate or bury the deceased.
It is very true that it is a very difficult decision to go for the choice of cremation. As a result, a lot of people will go for the option of burial. However, one thing which has to be stressed is that in the case of burial, a casket will be need while it will not be need in the case of cremation. As a result, the family members will also need to choose a casket if the option of burial is adapted.
Assuming that the idea of burial is chosen, the casket will become a very important thing in the funeral. One of the reason is that all the people who attend the funeral will see the casket in the funeral. Another thing is that the deceased will be “living” in the casket forever. As a result, the family members of the deceased should try their best to choose the casket.
Most funeral homes sell caskets. They will probably have a catalog of some kind for the family members of the deceased to choose from. The funeral director may also help people who are planning for the funeral to choose the most suitable casket.
Another option of purchasing a casket is to get it from the casket manufacturer. The family members may decide to specially order a casket for the deceased. In this case the option of choosing from the catalog of the funeral home may not be viable. And in this case the best option will be going to the manufacturer directly.
Yet for some people the option of ordering from the casket manufacturer will not be a suitable one. This is because it is usually more expensive for one to purchase a specially made casket from the casket maker.
One thing which has to be stressed here is that it is essential for every one who is involved in the funeral planning to make the decision together. This is because the casket is so important when a funeral is concerned.
In fact, it will be a lot better if the deceased has planned for the funeral himself / herself beforehand. The family members will just do whatever the deceased planned. In this case they will not need to choose the casket themselves.
