Little girls are made of sugar and spice and all things nice. These things are never expensive, so your little girl’s room does not have to be either. Even if you are a little cash-strapped, you can still give your little girl a room she can enjoy being in and growing up in. You can design a room that is full of character and is comfortable, which will be her special place.
You want to start with the walls. You can give the room an instant makeover just by painting the walls. Use a color that she likes, for example, a soft pastel lilac or pink. Then purchase some stick and peel reusable appliques that you can place on her walls like around the light switch. You can move these anytime you want to.
She probably has a collection of stuffed animals that you can display on shelves. If shelves are too expensive you can purchase a pet net that hooks on the corners of the walls.
To give her a new look on lighting you can replace the lampshade in her room. You can find a stylish lampshade that she will love at any bargain store. You may want to give her a pink light bulb for her lamp.
Area rugs can be beautiful on her floor. You will be amazed at all that is available so look for her area rug online so you will have access to them all. You may want to go with a flower shaped rug or a heart shaped area rug. These rugs will be affordable and easy on the budget.
You don’t have to throw out all her old stuff and replace them with new stuff. Take her bedspread, for example. You can do it up by adding lace onto the edges of her comforter. Throw pillows are cheap and you could get a couple and pile them onto her bed for both comfort and style. Get throw pillows in varying shapes, sizes, colors and textures to complete the look in her room.
For the windows you can add cotton panels or even drapes. The best choice is a sheer panel with different colors. You can use the sheer panels on the outside of the windows and add a sheer white or cream in the center. On the top of the window try using a scarf waterfall valence with interlocking loops. This is not expensive but it look beautiful.
Decorating your little girl’s room shouldn’t cost you too much as you can find a lot of the furniture and furnishings in thrift stores and discount stores at great bargains. It shouldn’t cost you an arm and a leg to make your little girl’s dreams come true.
